Shipping & Returns
Shipping
For any questions please contact us by emailing [email protected] or by calling 415-212-2228.
Due to ever changing direct-shipping laws and regulations, the list of states that we ship to may change at any time. All wines are sold in California and title passes to the buyer in California. We will arrange for shipment on behalf of the buyer, to an address specified by the buyer, provided that in our sole discretion we believe that such shipment will not subject us to the risk of any sort of legal action or other harm. If a buyer lives in a state where the direct shipment of wine may violate the law, we will contact the buyer to discuss shipping options, which options may include provision of an alternative shipping address in a state where the direct shipment of wines to consumers is permitted or storage of the wines at an acceptable third-party storage facility. All orders must be received by someone who is 21 years of age or older.
Seasonal Shipping
We highly recommend allowing us to "summer cellar" your wines during the warm months. With this option wine is held and consolidated in a climate-controlled warehouse for shipping later in the year once things cool down.
If you need to receive your wines now, we recommend overnight shipping with ice packs if possible. We are unable to replace any wines that are damaged due to temperature variations.
Returns
We strive to provide our customers with the highest quality products and service. All wines sold are maintained at optimum conditions. We consider wine to be out of our control once it has been handed over to the shipper and we cannot be responsible for improper storage after it has been delivered. Therefore, once your wine order has been picked up by the common carrier for delivery, the wine becomes your responsibility. We are not responsible for, and will not replace wine that is damaged by extreme weather conditions during shipment. We also cannot accept returns for the following: wines that do not coincide with personal tastes, wines that have been adversely affected by customer storage, and wines that have been otherwise damaged as a result of any other adverse condition occurring while the wines were in the your care. We also do not except cancellations for orders placed after 3 days. If you cancel your order there is a strict 20% restocking fee that will be upheld.
Library Wines
Library Wines are non-refundable. We take great care in determining their provenance. However, the aging of any wine is unpredictable and often aged wines are mistaken as being damaged by consumers.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
There is a 20% re-stocking fee for all canceled orders. Returned orders that are not the result of a Saison Cellar error are subject to a 20% restocking fee as well as a return shipping fee. No returns are accepted after 30 days from delivery so please inspect your received order upon arrival and notify us if we have made an error. California state law prohibits the return of gifts or over-purchases of alcoholic beverages.
PRE-ARRIVAL OR WINE FUTURES
“PRE-ARRIVAL” OR “WINE FUTURES” Pre-arrival wines (aka wine futures) are wines that, at the time of sale, have not yet arrived in our warehouse. PROJECTED AVAILABILITY DATES FOR PRE-ARRIVAL WINES ARE ESTIMATES ONLY. Saison Cellar HAS NO CONTROL OVER THE AVAILABILITY OF PRE-ARRIVAL WINES, AND Saison Cellar WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOST PROFITS) ARISING OUT OR IN CONNECTION WITH A PRE-ARRIVAL WINE NOT MEETING ITS ESTIMATED AVAILABILITY DATE. You acknowledge and understand that new or additional federal, state or local taxes, duties, or fees may be imposed upon Your purchase of a pre-arrival wine between order confirmation and deliver, and that You are solely responsible for such new or additional federal, state or local taxes, duties or fees.
